Red light therapy is a treatment that uses red light to improve skin appearance, relieve pain, and promote healing. It's also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation (PBM).

RLT works by using a low-energy red light to stimulate the mitochondria in cells.  Mitochondria are the "powerhouses" of cells, producing energy that powers cellular functions. The extra energy helps cells repair themselves, which can speed up the healing process for wounds, muscle injuries, and nerve damage.

Using a Whole Body Red Light Therapy session can be used

to increase healing and help with pain, inflammation rash, and burns.

FAQs:

Q:  How often should I use RLT?

A:  RLT can be used everyday to every other day. When you are just starting, it’s best to use it as often as you can. This will help you build up your collagen levels faster! Anywhere between 3 to 4 times a week is preferred. After your first month, you can drop down to a couple of times a week!

Q:  Can I use RLT before or after tanning?

A:  Yes!  RLT is best before tanning as it opens up your pores and allows the UV to penetrate your skin better.

Q: Do I need to use special product (lotions or serums) for RLT?

A: Yes. Although technically red light therapy can be absorbed through your body on product free skin it is recommended that you use a enhancer or a hybrid lotion. If you plan to go tanning afterwards, this will help your body absorb and not reflect the red light therapy to give you faster results.  Please see our Beach Gypsy staff for recommendations.
